Gymnastics with diagonal approaches and changes of direction

An exercise for a good canter in tight turns that also builds straightness and an even rhythm.

I designed this gymnastic for Hania and Tytan as an exercise for a good canter in tight turns. Diagonal approaches with a change of direction require the horse to keep the canter and balance, and the rider to plan the line ahead.

What it gives you

  • Keeping canter quality in short turns.
  • Straightness on the way out of the turn.
  • An even rhythm regardless of direction.

Great preparation for courses where you need to get back on the line quickly and cleanly after a rollback.
