I like exercises that I set up once and then adapt to whichever pair is in the session. This one is exactly that: simple to build, yet it allows for many gymnastic combinations.
How to use it
- Start with the easiest version: poles on the ground, a steady trot or canter.
- Once the horse finds the rhythm, raise individual elements into small verticals.
- Change the order and direction of approach. The same layout becomes a completely different task.
- Match the difficulty to the pair: a young horse gets a different version than a rider preparing for a show.
Most importantly, finish the exercise when it goes well, not when the horse is already tired. Enjoy your training!
